March 17th, 2019
Following Sunday Celebration Service
Your Board of Trustees is calling a special members’ meeting for Sunday, March 17th to vote on changes to the proposal for the addition to our current building.
The City of Lansing has not approved our use of a chair lift. We will be voting on which option will be our next course of action.
The vote will be making a choice among these options:
- Take the ruling to an appeals board to try to get an exemption to the building code. This process is a minimum of 2-3 months and likely longer. There is no guarantee we will be receive an exemption.
- Replace the vertical chair lift with an elevator. This would increase our costs approximately $50,0
- If this increase is approved, the board would ask permission to take out a loan for $50,000 to cover the additional expenses until the funds could be raised by other meanThis is an important step for our community.
